Cadets
Club
Purpose
|
Cadets is a boy's
club, similar to scouting, for 1st through 8th graders. The volunteer
counselors model Christian life and manhood in Bible
lessons, merit badge work, handicraft projects, and outdoor
activities. We meet three evenings a month from September
through April with additional events as scheduled.

Visitors
are Welcome
|
All boys in the 1st
through 8th grades are welcome to visit and join the
club, regardless of church background. If you have any
questions or want to visit our club, please email the Head Counselor: "cadets
at baldwinstreetcrc.org".

The annual Christmas Party was a great success, with two thirds of the club going sledding and the others playing video games. A couple of new boys visited the club, so we had a great time all around.
For the Christmas season we will be taking some time off; the next cadets meeting is Wednesday, January 7. Our club calendar has been recently updated for the second half of the year, please click here to see it.
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

Snow Derby: The Rush Creek Council Snow Derby will be held at the Council Campground in Allegan on Saturday, January 17. This year we are combining our annual Father-Son Winter Campout with this event.
Consequently, cadets must be at church for departure Friday, Jan 16 at 5:45pm. Snacks will be served Friday evening, so please give your cadet dinner before bringing him to church. Cadets will be returned home by their counselors sometime Saturday early to mid afternoon. We will be staying in a heated building at the Rush Creek Council campground in Allegan. Please bring clothing for outdoor winter activities, a change of clothing, sleeping bags and a pillow. Please do not bring any electronic toys of any kind.
Now, what do we do at a winter campout? The big tradition is to play capture the flag around 11:00 Friday night, and the boys really seem to love it. Adults, here is a tip for you: bring camping chairs! There is a lovely room in which to sit around an indoor fire, and chairs will make it much more comfortable.
