Parenting through Love and Logic

Wednesday 3/3/2010 7:00 PM
Dr. Robert Bulten, a Grand Rapids pediatrician who has limited his practice to Behavioral Medicine for the past 25 years, will lead a class on parenting. In his words, “I have a passion for helping parents do the very best job of parenting that they can.  Sadly, there are no instruction manuals that are included when a newborn comes along, so we all muddle through the best we can with the training (or lack of it) that we received from our own parents.  The tendency is to ‘over parent’ - hover over our children, not allowing them to learn from their own mistakes - or to ‘under parent’ - giving them no significant learning opportunities from their mistakes.  We'll try to strike a balance of parenting which will definitely make parenting easier for participants who are willing to do the work.
